Description

The Lanna-style Loy Krathong and lantern releasing are typically held together during the Loy Krathong festival, symbolizing the removal of bad luck and making wishes for a brighter future. Loy Krathong is an act of seeking forgiveness from rivers and water sources through Krathongs made from natural materials, while lantern releasing signifies letting go of sorrow and misfortune, while wishing for good fortune in the coming year. These two activities not only reflect the preservation of cultural heritage but also strengthen community bonds through celebration and collective participation in a festival with profound spiritual significance.
