At ElephantsWorld, a sanctuary dedicated to sick, old, and abused elephants, we prioritize the well-being of these magnificent creatures by reversing the roles: we work for them.

As a participant, you will have the incredible opportunity to actively contribute to the care of our elephants, engaging in tasks such as feeding them, preparing their nourishing meals, and gently scrubbing them clean in the rejuvenating river.

This immersive experience offers unparalleled closeness with these gentle giants, allowing you to forge a deep connection with these remarkable beings.

What to Expect

  • 11.30 AM Join in or observe the elephants taking a mud bath (elephant spa!)
  • 11:40 AM Take the elephants to the river for a bath

  • Arrival at ElephantsWorld! You might see some of the elephants at the gate on your way in!
  • Meet and feed the elephants watermelon and pumpkin! (Bring some bananas with you if you want to make quick friends!)
  • Walk down into the park and watch the elephants chilling out, splashing about in the river, or taking an elephant spa mud bath!
  • Help prepare and cook 
  • sticky rice and pumpkins for our old elephants who need a soft diet!
  • Break for a buffet lunch!
  • Gathering / planting food for the
  •  elephants, such as banana trees / sugar
  • cane / grass or prepare fruit baskets for the afternoon.

Activities : 

  • Stay overnight in our traditional Thai style cottages by the river and the mountains.
  • Our cottages are equipped with a bathroom and shower (hot shower), mosquito nets and a comfortable balcony terrace for relaxing, soaking up the atmosphere, or watching the river.
  • The first day you will join all of the visitors for our Day programme, however on the second day, there is a variety of other activities you can choose to do, including:
  • 1. Walking with the elephants to the forest
  • In wet season our elephants sleep and eat in the forest. Staying overnight will allow you to walk the elephants out into the forest at the end of the day with the mahouts and get up early the next day to bring them back in before the day’s activities begin. In dry season you can take a walk with the elephants in the morning.
  • 2. Hiking up the mountain - Follow one of the mahouts to the top of the mountain. Everybody can climb these mountains and enjoy the view and look to the other side. (This is at an additional cost of THB250 which is given directly to the mahout that takes you.)
  • 3. Bird watching
  • In the early morning you can observe many species of beautiful birds along the river.
  • 4. ‘Floating’ on the River
  • We’ll provide you with a life jacket, that you wear it upside down (legs through the arm holes) which allows you to be able to lay back and float peacefully down the river! Take a cold beer for the ride if you like! You can relax and enjoy the calm atmosphere and surroundings as you float back down the river to ElephantsWorld!
